What is bandwidth theft protection?
More often people directly link to images on other sites directly from their pages.
Result of this is that they don't have to pay for the bandwidth used for those images. Instead the site that holds
the images is charged for the usage of this bandwidth.
After moving my site to a new ISP with bandwidth limitations I decided to stop direct linking to my images.
The PHP-script I use to do this came from The sitewizard.com.
This PHP-script prevents illegal linking and informs the web owner by mail of any attempts to steal bandwidth.
I slightly modified the PHP-script so it won't send out an E-mail with an alert and the URL of the offending page.
Instead it now writes the alert to a file so my mailbox won't be filled up with alerts.
For privacy reasons this "logpage" is only accessible to me.
